Why I Started Writing Again

I wrote poetry in college and dreamed
of becoming a writer.

Then life took over, and “someday” became an easy promise to keep making.

At 68, I realized someday isn’t endless.
So I stopped waiting and started writing again.

Why I Started Writing Again

I wrote poetry in college, when love and passion felt endless, and dreamed of becoming a writer.

Then life took over—I built a business, raised a family, and kept telling myself I’d write someday.

Now, at 68, I realize someday isn’t endless.

I’m not afraid of growing older; I’m afraid of leaving without pursuing the dream I’ve always carried.

So I stopped waiting and started writing again.

The Right Reasons

Why I Write

I write because it’s never too late to chase the dream you’ve carried for years. Life gets busy, fear gets comfortable, and “someday” can quietly slip away.

I also write because words connect us. A poem can bring back a person, a place, or a part of ourselves we thought we’d lost.

If my words make someone feel less alone, remember a love, open a long-closed door, or chase a forgotten dream, then every word was worth writing.
